Quilt #5

So my grandma (grandpa is not so sure) was kind enough to agree to watch my dog for me when I head out of town for a week on a cruise.  I thought that this was the perfect opportunity to make a quilt for her as a thank you gift.  My intent was to make her a purple quilt, but I found some other fabrics that I thought she would love instead.  I really like how it turned out!

Quilt #4

A quilt for me!!  So I decided it's my turn for a quilt.  I went to the store and automatically went over to the fabrics with blacks and whites.  I was so used to picking out those sorts of colors.  I noticed what I was doing, put the fabric down and went to the other side of the fabrics.  This is what I came out with.  I quite enjoy that the colors are very different from the other quilts I have done.

A close up of the fabrics.

The full thing.  (Don't mind the chairs.)   More pictures to come once I get it tied. Maybe this time I'll actually take a finished product picture.

And I'm finally done!  It took me a few months to finish the binding, but tonight I finally get to use it.

Quilt #3

So here we are at quilt #3.  Theme this time??   Wait for it...  Ute themed!
I seem to be on a role with this theme.
This quilt I made for Ashley's birthday.  Happy birthday Ash!

Laying it out.

Tying it up.

Apparently I don't have a finished product on my camera.  I'll need to pull it off of my old phone, so to be continued...

Quilt #2

So the U of U theme seemed to be a big hit.  I decided to make quilt #2, still U themed, for my brother and his wife for Christmas.  They had a couple of requirements.  The first being it needed a pattern and second less polka dots.

This is right before I started tying it.

Me just tying away in my grandma's basement.

The finished product!

I think she liked it!

Quilt #1

My first quilt was a gift for a friend. I decided that I wanted to make it as a Christmas present to give to her.  I tried to pick out fabrics that she would love, and decided on a Utah Utes theme.   She loves the Utah Utes and polka dots, so how could I go wrong?

This picture is me trying to figure out how to lay out the quilt.  I didn't really have a plan going into it, which would have been more helpful.  The quilt doesn't have a pattern, but I actually really like it that way!
(sorry, bad picture)

On the quilting frames...

All finished tying it.  I just realized I didn't get a finished project picture. I'm sure you get the idea though.  :)
I quite like how it turned out. Not bad for a first try, huh?
